Position Summary:

The ALM Analyst role is part of the ALM (Asset Liability Management) team and focuses on supporting the team’s daily activities, including monitoring, analysis, development, and validation of risk models related to non-traded market risks such as Interest Rate Risk, Credit Spread Risk, and FX Risk in the Banking Book. The team provides independent oversight of liquidity and non-traded market risk, ensuring compliance with risk policies and appetite metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify, quantify, and manage non-traded market rate risks in the Banking Book using risk methodologies and techniques approved by senior management.

• Monitor non-traded market risk against internal triggers, limits, and regulatory limits.

• Analyse, design, and propose changes or enhancements to existing non-traded market risk methodologies and assumptions.

• Provide analytical support to ensure accurate implementation of non-traded market risk methodologies.

• Perform technical analysis to validate the assumptions underpinning the NTMR models.

• Enhance existing data manipulation processes within model risk management using Python and database queries.

• Undertake project work involving risk models, analyse and confirm results, and test new methodologies.

• Form strong relationships with business areas and report the results at Group ALCO (Asset Liability Committee).

Core Skills and Knowledge:

• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python), along with experience in visualization tools such as PowerBI.

• Strong understanding of data cleaning, transformation, and analysis techniques using Python libraries like Pandas, Polars, Scikit-learn, and NumPy.

• Familiarity with basic machine learning techniques such as regression, classification, and clustering.

• Skilled in SQL for querying databases and analyzing large datasets.

• Experience with version control systems (e.g., GitHub) and adhering to coding best practices.

• Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly Azure, and utilizing compute and data resources effectively.

• Solid understanding of financial products, particularly retail and wholesale products.

• Knowledge of IRRBB, CSRBB, and FXRBB along with industry-standard ALM risk techniques is advantageous.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong attention to detail, ability to meet tight deadlines, and a systematic approach to problem-solving.

• Creative team player, willing to work in a dynamic and constantly changing environment.

• Driven and ambitious, with a willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
