Job Description

Purpose/Key Objectives of the Job

• Strategy Execution: Collaborate with stakeholders across the South Asia Business Unit (BU) to execute strategy and planning workstreams.

• Business Planning & Intelligence: Gather, analyze, and submit inputs for business planning, intelligence, and strategy projects.

• Market & Competitor Intelligence: Maintain and update information about competition, macroeconomic indicators, and market data, and release timely reports.

• Market Share Analysis: Work with country teams to align and calibrate market share models regularly.

• Intelligence & Strategy Repository: Maintain and update the repository for intelligence and strategy workstreams for the BU South Asia.

Responsibilities

• Strategy & Intelligence Execution: Drive data-driven workstreams for strategy and intelligence projects across the BU.

• Planning Process: Collaborate with various stakeholders to execute the planning process, create executive presentations, and develop sub-category and regional plans for the BU.

• Co-develop Strategies: Work with regional and sub-category teams to co-develop new strategies, provide actionable recommendations, and create budgets.

• Cross-functional Alignment: Align goals and resources across functions for intelligence and strategy purposes.

• Business Planning Support: Assist with yearly business planning, including situation analysis and commercial/operational plans. Ensure data quality and timeliness for submissions.

• Market & Competitor Intelligence: Maintain updated databases on key competitors, macroeconomic indicators, and market trends, and provide timely reports.

• Data Collection & Analysis: Collect and structure data on economy, market, and competitors from multiple sources.

• Periodic Reports: Release periodic reports on competitors in collaboration with finance, marketing, and country teams.

• Ad-hoc Strategy Projects: Manage and execute ad-hoc projects and strategy initiatives as needed.

Level of Autonomy

• The job holder will be expected to align on strategic imperatives with the Regional Strategy Manager and Regional Marketing Head.

• Independent decision-making will be required in the execution of day-to-day tasks, but strategic alignment is crucial.

Examples of Challenges

1. Data Gaps: Handling ambiguities in data or missing data, and synthesizing information from internal and external sources to derive meaningful conclusions.

2. Multi-Country Complexity: Managing complex interfaces across multiple countries, cultures, and functions to ensure timely and accurate data flow and strategic alignment.

Job Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Management Graduate (MBA) with 2-4 years of work experience, at least 2 years of which should be in consulting, strategy, or market intelligence.

• Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and work with large data sets.

  • Expertise in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Strong communication skills in English (both written and spoken).

  • Experience in reporting and summarizing data-based workstreams.

  • Familiarity with analysis and visualization tools like Power BI is a plus.

Desirable Experience:

• Previous experience in Consulting, Strategy, or Market Intelligence & Planning is highly beneficial.
