Project Description

Citi is embarking on a multi-year technology initiative within the Wholesale Lending Credit Risk (WLCR) Technology Space. We are building a platform from the ground up to support various Messaging, API, and Workflow Components for Loans Services across the bank. This role offers a unique opportunity to be a core member of the team, using Java, Spring Boot, and Kafka to develop the solution. The platform will utilize the latest technologies in a Hybrid-Agile Environment.

You will gain deep exposure to the Wholesale Lending Division, working with cutting-edge technologies while having the opportunity to collaborate with both business and technology teams.

Role Overview

The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is responsible for participating in the design and implementation of new or updated application systems. This position will involve direct contribution to Java/Spring Boot development, with a focus on writing high-quality code, performing unit testing, and ensuring the successful implementation of business solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• 5-8 years of experience in software development.

• Individual Contributor role: Write high-quality code in AngularJS 16 for front-end, and Java, Spring Boot for back-end.

• Proficient with UI/UX design using tools like Figma and unit testing using Jest.

• Strong understanding of JUnit, Mockito, Integration Tests, and Performance Tests.

• Collaborate effectively with offshore and onshore teams, and communicate development progress to the Project Lead.

• Write user documentation and provide input on system enhancements.

• Evaluate new development tools, libraries, and approaches to improve project delivery.

• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for senior stakeholders and team members.

• Analyze applications for security vulnerabilities, conduct testing, and debug issues.

• Provide coaching and guidance to junior developers and analysts.

• Work with minimal supervision and independently make technical decisions.

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of UI/UX Design and tools (e.g., Figma), AngularJS, and unit testing with Jest.

• Expertise in Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring Security, and Spring Web.

• Proficient in Java: Threading, Collections, Exception Handling, JDBC, OOP Concepts, Design Patterns (GoF), and working with binary data, XML, JSON, and file parsing.

• Knowledge of SQL (Oracle preferred).

• Experience with SOA, Micro-services, and REST APIs.

• Hands-on experience with cloud-ready applications and containerized environments.

• Familiarity with CI/CD environments and tools such as Tekton, Harness, Jenkins, and Code Quality tools.

• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and the SDLC lifecycle.

• Experience in debugging, tuning, and optimizing components.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have Experience

• Experience with Messaging Systems: RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Kafka, Tibco, IBM MQ, etc.

• Familiarity with Tomcat, Jetty, Apache HTTPD.

• Experience with containerization: Kubernetes, Docker.

• Familiarity with build/configure/deploy automation tools.

• Experience with Linux ecosystem.

• Experience with APIm, APM tools: Dynatrace, AppDynamics, etc.

• Experience with Autosys.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of relevant experience in application development within the Financial Services industry.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (Master’s degree preferred).

• Intermediate-level experience in Application Development.

• Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing requirements.
