Role Overview

As a Manager, Audit Analytics, you will be a key player in transforming business risks and controls into powerful analytic solutions. You’ll contribute to multiple audit projects across various business domains, apply cutting-edge techniques, and help American Express stay ahead in risk assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business risks, controls, and data into analytics requirements; develop insights that influence strategic decision-making.

• Manage multiple complex audit projects across global business areas.

• Link analytics to broader strategic initiatives.

• Apply advanced analytics and modeling techniques to uncover improvement opportunities.

• Leverage machine learning to identify patterns, predict risk, and improve processes using structured and unstructured data.

• Write, debug, and compile code in ML environments (Python, PySpark, Apache Spark, etc.).

• Prototype advanced analytics use cases and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

• Collaborate closely with peers, providing subject matter expertise and making insights relevant and actionable.

• Promote adoption of emerging analytics tools and methodologies through continuous learning and innovation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 3–4 years of experience in data and analytics roles.

• Strong technical expertise in:

  • Python (scikit, nltk, pandas, numpy)

  • SQL/Hive QL

  • Visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)

  • Machine learning, forecasting, pattern recognition

• Experience in building dashboards, writing analytic code, and interpreting data in a business context.

• Background in financial services and understanding of related products, economics, and regulations.

• Ability to analyze complex problems, break them into components, and deliver risk/control insights.

• Excellent storytelling and data visualization skills.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings to leadership.

• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and implement feedback across deliverables.

• Passion for continuous innovation and making data-driven business impact.
