Job Description

Position: Associate – Carbon Offsets

• Practice Area: Carbon Offset Market
• Work Type & Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday
• Location: Okhla, New Delhi (including client project field trips)

This position falls under cCarbon, a division of cKinetics, which monitors over 200 North American businesses and derives insights from carbon and offset markets.

Role Objective

The Associate – Carbon Offsets will be responsible for researching, analyzing, and evaluating voluntary and compliance carbon offset markets. The role includes preparing insight reports, market analyses, and presentations backed by data and modeling.

Key Responsibilities

1) Industry & Sectoral Research

• Independently analyze regional compliance programs and the global voluntary carbon offset markets, focusing on North America.
• Stay updated on policy and market developments and assess their impact.
• Engage with clients, advisors, and market participants to address queries.
• Use data trends and patterns to draw meaningful conclusions.

2) Project Management

• Prepare reports with data insights, trends, and patterns for impactful written and oral presentations.
• Collaborate with the Carbon team and other stakeholders.
• Work with Senior Associates and Managers to develop client solutions.
• Ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project deliveries.

3) Time Management & Project Monitoring

• Adhere to project timelines through self-monitoring and collaboration with Analysts.
• Utilize internal tools/software for tracking time spent on different projects.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Energy, Economics, Environment, or other related technical fields.

Work Experience

• Minimum 2-4 years of consulting experience in related fields:
  • Carbon Markets
  • Energy Transition
  • Sustainability
  • Renewable Energy

Additional Skills

• Proven experience in academic research, writing technical/policy reports, white papers, etc.
• Strong market research skills (minimum 2 years required).
• In-depth knowledge of carbon offset markets and policies.
