Job Description

The Externals Design Advanced Lead Engineer will report to the Externals Design Manager within the GE Bangalore Configurations Organization. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing engine Externals Hardware and thermal management systems for aircraft engines.

This position offers the opportunity to:

Key Responsibilities

???? Design & Development:

• Collaborate with the Systems Integration Team and other hardware module groups to develop an externals package that meets cost, weight, reliability, and maintainability objectives.
• Apply GE best practices and design standards.
• Ensure compliance with internal and external (airframer, government) requirements.

???? Collaboration & Leadership:

• Work effectively in a diverse, global, and distributed work environment.
• Lead a virtual/global team, including Product Definition, Stress, Thermal, and Flow Analysts.
• Mentor less-experienced engineers and provide technical guidance.

???? Analysis & Testing:

• Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for evaluating designs.
• Support assembly and testing of complex mechanical systems.
• Interpret and analyze test data for performance optimization.

???? Project Management & Communication:

• Develop and present technical results to internal and external stakeholders.
• Document and execute program plans.
• Manage project timelines and coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams.

???? Continuous Learning & Development:

• Participate in training programs, mentorship, and career path planning.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies in aviation design.

Qualifications & Requirements

✅ Education:

• B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).

✅ Experience:

• 6-8 years of experience in gas turbine component design/analysis, preferably working on components subjected to dynamic environments.

✅ Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in solid modeling software.
• Experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Knowledge of MS Office Suite for project documentation.

✅ Soft Skills & Leadership Qualities:

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Team player who prioritizes team success over individual achievements.
• Ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams to solve complex engineering challenges.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
