Our mission is rooted in the values of compassion, community service, and excellence in medical care. We strive to bridge the healthcare gap in rural and semi-urban areas through a patient-first, service-oriented approach.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate BMD Technician to join our Radiology team. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting Bone Mineral Density (BMD) tests using specialized equipment, typically DEXA scanners, and contributing to the early diagnosis and monitoring of osteoporosis and other bone-related disorders. The technician will play a vital role in supporting clinicians with accurate data and ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Bone Mineral Density (BMD) scanning equipment such as DEXA machines to perform diagnostic procedures.
  • Prepare patients for the scan by explaining the procedure, answering queries, and positioning them accurately for optimal results.
  • Monitor equipment performance and conduct routine maintenance and calibration as per protocols.
  • Analyze scan data, generate accurate reports, and submit findings to the consulting physician for diagnosis.
  • Maintain meticulous patient records and update hospital databases with scan results and relevant notes.
  • Follow all clinical protocols, hygiene standards, and safety procedures to ensure a sterile and safe testing environment.
  • Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to prioritize and schedule scans.
  • Provide educational information to patients about bone health and the significance of BMD testing.
  • Assist with the inventory management of consumables and report equipment faults or shortages.
  • Participate in ongoing departmental training, quality assurance programs, and audits.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Radiology, Medical Imaging Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Certification or hands-on training in BMD or DEXA scanning techniques is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of practical experience in a diagnostic center or hospital setting is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of imaging equipment, including calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in medical software for entering data and generating reports.
  • Excellent patient-handling skills, including empathy, clear communication, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in reporting.

Work Environment & Benefits:

  • Full-time, on-site role at Santiniketan Medical College & Hospital, Bolpur.
  • Opportunity to work in a purpose-driven, community-focused healthcare setting.
  • Competitive salary package based on qualifications and experience.
  • Subsidized meals and accommodation may be provided for outstation candidates.
  • Access to professional development programs, training workshops, and academic collaborations.
  • Supportive work environment that encourages growth, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Why Join Us:

This is more than just a job—it’s a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most. At SMCH, every scan you perform helps bring quality diagnostics to patients who might otherwise go without. Be part of a compassionate healthcare team that values integrity, service, and community.
