We are seeking a passionate Backend Software Engineer to join our Fulfillment Optimization team, which builds platforms for optimizing customer order fulfillment, focusing on profitability and customer satisfaction.

Our team works on enhancing customer-facing platforms that provide real-time fulfillment information throughout the customer journey—from search to delivery. We handle everything from accurately representing the supply chain to ensuring products fit into boxes, flow through warehouses, and are delivered successfully.


About the Role

As a Data Engineer, you will be part of the Data Engineering team. The role is highly collaborative, involving work with Data Scientists, Analysts, and Application teams across the company. You will be responsible for building and launching data pipelines and products, contributing to SMART Org, and enhancing product features using data and machine learning models.

The ideal candidate is someone who loves data, understands requirements clearly, iterates quickly, and possesses strong engineering skills.


What You'll Do

  • Build and launch data pipelines and products focused on SMART Org.

  • Help teams push the boundaries of insights, creating new product features using data and powering machine learning models.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs, develop key metrics, and standardize usage across the organization.

  • Work with cutting-edge technologies in software engineering, big data, streaming, and cloud infrastructure.


What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in Data Engineering with large-scale datasets.

  • Expertise in data modeling, ETL development, and data lake architecture.

  • Experience with Big Data Technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Presto, Airflow, etc.

  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Scala).

  • Experience building and operating highly available, distributed systems for data extraction, ingestion, processing, and performance tuning for large datasets.

  • Industry experience as a Big Data Engineer, working across cross-functional teams such as Software Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science, with a proven track record in manipulating and extracting value from large datasets.

  • Strong business acumen and experience leading large-scale data warehousing and analytics projects using GCP technologies (BigQuery, Dataproc, GCS, Cloud Composer, Dataflow), or equivalent big data technologies in AWS or Azure.

  • Team player with a focus on best practices in the data engineering field.

  • Strong communication skills to effectively explain technical information and results at all organizational levels.


Good to Have

  • Knowledge of NoSQL Database and Pub-Sub architecture setup.

  • Familiarity with BI tools like Looker, Tableau, AtScale, PowerBI, or similar tools.
