Join Comcast's Unified Communications Engineering team as a DevOps Engineer, where you'll help build and maintain secure, reliable, scalable systems supporting our Device & Test Automation platform. You will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment alongside seasoned engineers to support the development and operation of innovative voice and unified communications products.
The Unified Communications Engineering organization designs, delivers, and operates Comcast’s voice and UC products for residential, commercial, and wholesale customers. We are dedicated to reliability, security, and exceptional customer experiences, using modern DevSecOps practices. Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated software delivery.
Collaborate with developers to improve release processes and workflows.
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system performance and availability.
Troubleshoot deployment, performance, and scalability issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on DevOps best practices.
Create and maintain internal documentation for tools and processes.
Stay updated on trends in DevOps, containerization, and cloud technologies.
Analyze project needs and identify product/technical requirements.
Develop and support custom software applications and updates.
Assist with training and documentation for internal tools.
Lead technical design processes and mentor junior engineers.
Evaluate competitive products and industry best practices.
Ensure QA alignment with product specs and technical goals.
Present and defend technical decisions internally.
5–7 years of relevant work experience
Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms: OpenStack, Red Hat Virtualization, AWS, Azure, or GCP
Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management: Terraform, Ansible
Strong scripting knowledge: Python, LUA
Knowledge of CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Concourse, GitLab CI, Travis CI
Proficiency in monitoring/logging tools: Splunk, ELK, Grafana, Nagios, OP5
Experience with Linux OS: RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu
Familiarity with system-level troubleshooting and command-line operations
Experience supporting and debugging applications in a production environment
Bachelor's Degree (preferred), or a combination of relevant coursework and professional experience
