Job Title: Frontend Developer (JavaScript/React)

Join our expert annotation team and contribute to creating training data for the world’s most advanced AI models. No previous AI experience is necessary. This is an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door with one of the leading players in the AI/LLM space. We're currently looking for JavaScript/React developers with 3+ years of experience to train large AI language models, helping improve generative AI's ability to write better frontend code. We have over 200 roles available!

What You Will Be Doing

• Evaluating the quality of AI-generated code, providing human-readable summaries of your rationale.

• Building and evaluating React components, hooks, and modern JavaScript solutions.

• Solving coding problems and writing functional, efficient JavaScript/React code.

• Writing robust test cases to ensure code works efficiently and effectively.

• Creating clear instructions to assist others and reviewing code before it is incorporated into the model.

• Working on a variety of projects, from evaluating code snippets to developing full mobile applications using chatbots.

Pay Rates

• Compensation varies based on location and experience.

• You will be paid weekly, according to the hours spent on the platform (calculated through coding exercises).

• Expectation: 15+ hours per week (with no upper limit). Work as much as you want.

Contract Length

• This is a long-term contract with no end date. We anticipate work availability for the next 2 years.

• You can end the contract at any time, but we hope you’ll commit to at least 12 months.

Flexible Schedules

• Developers can set their own hours (ideal candidates will be interested in working up to 40 hours per week).

• You will work with teams, and strong performers will adapt to project urgency, but we’re incredibly flexible regarding working hours.

• You can take breaks (such as a 3-hour lunch) without issue.

Interview Process

1. Apply using the Ashby form.

2. If shortlisted, you’ll be sent an async RLHF code review that takes about 35 minutes, which must be completed within 72 hours.

3. After successful completion, you’ll receive credentials to the RLHF platform.

4. A group call will follow to answer questions about onboarding.

5. Your final interview will involve performing a simulated production-level task (RLHF task) on the platform, determining your employment and leveling.

Tech Stack Priorities

We are primarily looking for frontend engineers skilled in:

• JavaScript

• React

• Modern web development frameworks and libraries.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a software engineering/software development role.

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/React and frontend development.

• Complete fluency in English.

• Ability to clearly and engagingly articulate complex technical concepts.

• Excellent attention to detail and consistency in writing, with a solid understanding of grammar, punctuation, and style guidelines.

Nice to Haves

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science.

• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries (e.g., Next.js, Vue, Angular).

• Familiarity with frontend testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress).

• Knowledge of state management solutions (e.g., Redux, Context API, MobX).

• Experience with TypeScript and modern frontend tooling.

• Recognized accomplishments or contributions to the coding community or projects.

• Proven analytical skills and ability to approach problems creatively.

• Adept communication skills, especially in understanding and discussing project requirements.

• A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest coding advancements and best practices.

• Enthusiasm for teaching AI models and experience with technical writing.
