Position Overview

This Vice President role is for an experienced iOS App Development Lead to join the E*TRADE and Morgan Stanley Wealth Management App team. The position is based in Bengaluru with a minimum of 3 days a week on-premise expected.


About the Division: Wealth Management Technology

Wealth Management Technology (WM_Technology) is responsible for the end-to-end design, development, delivery, and support of technical solutions that power Morgan Stanley Wealth Management services.

  • Financial Advisor Platforms

  • Global Banking Technology (GBT)

Role Responsibilities

As an iOS App Development Lead, your key responsibilities will include:

Modernization & Codebase Maintenance

  • Translate Objective-C/UIKit code to Swift/Swift UI

  • Refactor code into Swift Packages for consistency and modularity

  • Upgrade code to support Swift 6.0 and strict concurrency

  • Drive warning resolution to zero and enable SwiftLint across all classes

  • Replace third-party SDKs (e.g., Realm) with native Apple frameworks

  • Conduct annual codebase maintenance to align with iOS and Xcode updates

Additional Responsibilities (may be supported by other teams initially)

  • Create and enhance features for flagship apps

  • Manage certificates and provisioning profiles (e.g., push notifications, certificate pinning)

  • Address production issues using feedback, crash reports, and analytics

  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams on development/build process issues


Required Qualifications

Primary Skills

  • 8+ years of relevant iOS development experience

  • Deep expertise in Swift 6, SwiftUI, Objective-C, and UIKit

  • Solid understanding of:

    • Swift Concurrency, Actor Isolation, Threading

    • Crash analysis and debugging

    • iOS APIs: Local Authentication, WebKit, Networking

  • Experience with latest Xcode, xcodebuild, and iOS versions

  • Proven track record of leading junior developers and conducting code reviews

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience

Desired Skills

  • Experience with API development

  • Awareness of Android app development

  • Strong user experience sensibility
