Job Purpose

As a Site Reliability Engineer, your role is to proactively support and enhance the performance of IT services and infrastructure. You will be responsible for maintaining high system availability, troubleshooting recurring issues, implementing root cause fixes, and driving automation for operational efficiency. You will also collaborate across development and operations teams to ensure seamless deployments and continual service improvement.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

  • Ensure high system availability and performance through well-maintained support systems.

  • Respond to complex operational incidents and conduct thorough root cause analyses.

  • Monitor performance using SLIs and SLOs and proactively remediate issues.

  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and infrastructure teams for operational readiness of new products.

Problem Management

  • Conduct in-depth investigations into recurring service disruptions.

  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to implement permanent solutions.

  • Track and report problem resolution effectiveness and improvements.

Event Management

  • Define and maintain a dynamic event catalog with active events, thresholds, and remediation steps.

  • Develop event response protocols and train teams accordingly.

  • Analyze event effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.

Deployment Management

  • Oversee quality and execution of new release deployments.

  • Develop and manage deployment schedules and risk assessments.

  • Coordinate operational readiness with delivery and engineering teams.

DevOps/NetOps Management

  • Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines.

  • Automate operational tasks and resolve automation-related issues.

  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and enhance DevOps best practices.


Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

  • A Master’s degree is preferred for senior positions.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Linux Administration

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)

  • Cloud Platform Certifications (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

  • Certified DevOps Professional

Experience

  • 8+ years in IT operations, service or infrastructure management.

  • Strong background in high-availability systems, incident management, and RCA.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, and infrastructure monitoring.

  • Familiarity with containerization, zero-downtime deployments, and cross-functional collaboration.
