Position Summary:

We are seeking a Manager of Software Engineering within Wholesale Credit Risk Technology. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day implementation activities for your team, ensuring compliance with business requirements and adherence to tactical best practices. You will also guide and nurture your team, providing mentorship and career development opportunities, while setting realistic goals and expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and guide a team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities, setting clear expectations for output and collaboration.

• Ensure the team’s work aligns with compliance standards, business requirements, and service level agreements.

• Anticipate dependencies between teams to ensure timely delivery of products and applications.

• Manage stakeholder relationships and act as the liaison between the team and business units.

• Foster a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect within your team.

• Provide technical input and delivery where needed, contributing directly to software development activities.

• Actively participate in planning activities and follow Agility standards in project management.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.

• Proven experience in coaching and mentoring team members.

• Experience leading technology projects and managing a team of technologists.

• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.

• Advanced understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and agile methodologies like CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and related IT systems.

• Practical experience with cloud-native technologies.

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, with expertise in relevant technology disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• Experience working at code level and contributing to development directly.

• Experience in goal setting, fostering feedback, and managing team performance.

• Familiarity with story writing and agile-style planning activities.

• Strong focus on process and communication within teams.

About the Team:

The Corporate Technology team at JPMorgan Chase is responsible for developing applications and providing tech support across all our corporate functions, including Global Finance, Corporate Treasury, Risk Management, Human Resources, Compliance, and Legal. You will be part of a team focused on meeting and exceeding evolving technology needs and ensuring robust technology controls.
