Job Description

As a Platform Engineer at Rockwell Automation, you will be responsible for improving the experience of developers by providing first-class engineering and support for lower environments. This includes enabling teams to deliver work with autonomy through Infrastructure As Code, driving CI/CD automation, and creating scalable, repeatable, and secure environments.

You will work across various teams to ensure the platform is optimized, automate development processes, and champion a culture of automation at platform layers.

Responsibilities

• Improve the experience of developers by providing high-quality engineering and support for lower environments.

• Co-locate with Development teams to drive improvements and enhance the experience of Rockwell’s developers.

• Enable stream/product-aligned teams to deliver work with autonomy using Infrastructure As Code.

• Resolve platform and network issues in build chains to ensure reliable and repeatable build automation.

• Create and maintain reusable services, build observability into build chains, and automate processes across environments.

• Collaborate with Development, Security, and Infrastructure teams to support the creation of lower environments and ensure the security of intellectual property.

• Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring they are repeatable, efficient, and tailored to improve developers' experiences.

• Drive initiatives to automate development processes, reduce friction, and eliminate bottlenecks at platform and network layers.

• Define test cases for CI/CD pipelines to ensure proper use of platform components and operational readiness.

• Establish metrics, KPIs, and monitor platform products to measure developer satisfaction.

• Stay updated with the latest trends in developer tools, platforms, and methodologies, and advocate for developer-friendly policies.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, MIS, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant work experience.

• Minimum 5 years of experience leading systems or platform development teams.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Network Operations or Engineering roles.

• Minimum 4 years of experience in DevSecOps or Continuous Delivery support.

• Strong experience with Continuous Delivery practices, Agile/SAFe, across large organizations.

• Ability to collaborate and influence diverse teams with varied software development requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong skills in creating technical roadmaps and organizing work using Scrum/Agile principles.

• Excellent internal customer focus with stories demonstrating improvement in the developer experience.

• Deep understanding of network and platform components, their architecture, provisioning, monitoring, and lifecycle.

• Excellent collaboration skills and a willingness to partner with teams across the organization.

• Proven track record of innovation in platform automation and IDPs (Integrated Developer Platforms).

• Strong communication skills, able to interact with both senior executives and front-line technical teams.

Work Location and Hybrid Policy

• Primary Locations: Bangalore, Pune, Noida

• Work Schedule: Hybrid (Expected to work at a Rockwell location on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, unless a business obligation arises).
