About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing team in Hyderabad. You will work on customer-facing products, contribute across the tech stack, and play a critical role in shaping the technical direction of the platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver impactful, scalable backend solutions

• Own the full development lifecycle: system design, coding, deployment, monitoring, and support

• Work closely with Product, Design, and Marketing for iterative product development

• Lead performance and scalability improvements

• Mentor and support other engineers on best practices and productivity

• Drive continuous improvement in architecture, design, and implementation

• Ensure customer-centric design with a strong product sense

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or related field

• 5+ years of backend development experience using Scala or Java

• Mastery of at least one additional programming language (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript)

• Experience in agile environments with CI/CD and monitoring practices

• Self-starter with a strong bias for action and ownership

• Team player with high collaboration and communication skills

• Willingness to learn Scala (mandatory if not already proficient)

Nice to Haves:

• Background in B2C applications

• Knowledge of finance and trading

• Familiarity with CQRS / Event Sourcing patterns

• Experience with Lagom/Akka frameworks

• Understanding of databases, message queues, Docker, and cloud infrastructure

Tech Stack:

• Backend: Scala / Akka, DDD, CQRS, Event Sourcing

• Frontend: TypeScript / React (web), Dart / Flutter (mobile)

• Databases: Cassandra (transactional), PostgreSQL (read-side)

• Messaging: Kafka

• Data Lake: Spark / Athena

• Infrastructure: 100% Cloud-native with CI/CD & Infrastructure as Code
