Role Overview

The Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Network Security Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing systems’ operational efficiency. This is a blended role involving both security engineering and site reliability, leveraging expertise to build and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available systems. The role will focus on deployment automation, system optimization, and ensuring consistent performance and reliability.

You will work closely with development, operations, and IT teams to automate and optimize systems, ensuring they are highly available, resilient, and perform optimally. What You’ll Do

• Security Remediation:
  Proactively detect and remediate security vulnerabilities and defects, ensuring the timely implementation of security patches and updates.

• Network Availability & Performance:
  Ensure high availability and optimal performance of the network infrastructure through proactive monitoring and capacity planning.

• Automation:
  Automate routine tasks and create tools to improve team efficiency and system robustness.

• Documentation:
  Document procedures, system configurations, and operational practices to facilitate knowledge transfer within the team.

• Incident Management & Post-incident Reviews:
  Collaborate with Network Operations teams for thorough post-incident reviews, identifying root causes, and developing action plans to improve network reliability and operational efficiency.

• System Optimization:
  Analyze system performance and recommend improvements to ensure optimal utilization of network resources.

• Security Best Practices:
  Ensure that network environments comply with security best practices and organizational compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Experience:
  3-5 years in an engineering or operations capacity, with at least 3 years in a security-related field.

• Networking & Security:
  3-5 years of experience in networking and security fundamentals, including network topologies, routing protocols, switching concepts, firewalls, and security protocols.

• Network Management:
  Experience managing and operating network environments using Palo Alto (with Panorama), CISCO, or NSX-T.

• Scripting Skills:
  Experience beyond simple scripts, including languages like Python, PowerShell, and Bash.

• Operating Systems:
  Familiarity with Linux or Windows operating systems, including hardening of the operating systems.

• Problem-Solving:
  Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze system logs and data.

• Monitoring & Observability:
  Proven experience with network monitoring and observability solutions.

• Educational Background:
  Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

Nice-to-Have

• Certifications:
  Network certifications such as Palo Alto (PCNSA/PCCSE), NSX (VCP), and security certifications like CISSP, CISM, or CKS.

• CI/CD Experience:
  Experience or understanding of CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
