Job Title: Senior Software Developer (Database Administrator)

As a Senior Software Developer (Database Administrator), you will be a key player in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable database environments. You will work with advanced technologies to support applications and data systems, ensuring seamless integration of database components.
You will be responsible for SQL Server, MongoDB, and other NoSQL databases, ensuring the delivery of robust, secure, and high-availability database systems.
Manage and Maintain Databases: Oversee SQL Server databases both On-Prem and Cloud in production and non-production environments.
Design and Implement Database Architecture: Build scalable and reliable database architectures.
Develop Secure Systems: Create robust database systems with high availability and performance.
Automate Database Tasks: Develop shell scripts for database automation, monitoring, and administration tasks.
Troubleshoot Database Issues: Identify and resolve issues to ensure optimal performance and system stability.
Backup & Recovery: Implement backup, recovery, migration, and disaster recovery strategies.
Collaborate with Teams: Work with cross-functional teams to deliver database solutions aligned with business objectives.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 6+ years of experience in database administration, specializing in MongoDB and SQL Server.
Skills:
Expertise in query optimization and database performance tuning.
Experience with high-availability setups such as replica sets, sharding, and failover clusters.
Proficient in shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell) for database automation.
Familiar with cloud-based database solutions and DevOps pipelines.
Knowledge of database security (role-based access, encryption).
Experience with monitoring tools (mongotop, mongostat, SQL Profiler).
Familiarity with messaging queues (RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, Solace) is a plus.
Strong understanding of database administration best practices, design patterns, and standards.
Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
Professional certification in relevant database technologies.
