About the CIIP Team

The Client Interactions & Insights Platform (CIIP) team builds the core data platform that powers analytics, decision-making, and business intelligence across Endowus. This cross-functional, full-stack team works with departments like Data Analytics, Marketing, Growth, and Operations to provide reliable, near real-time access to internal and third-party data insights.

Role Overview

As the Lead Data Engineer, you will own the technical architecture, security, and operational excellence of Endowus’ core data infrastructure. You’ll lead and mentor a team of engineers, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and design data systems that support massive scale, low latency, and strict compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical architecture, design, delivery, and security for Endowus’ central data platform

• Partner with Product, Engineering, and cross-functional teams to translate business goals into scalable data solutions

• Design robust, cloud-native pipelines using Apache Flink / Spark for ingestion, transformation, and aggregation of large-scale data

• Own platform performance, data privacy, sovereignty, and data quality practices

• Build streaming data solutions using Kafka, Airflow, AWS Glue, Lake Formation, etc.

• Integrate internal and external data sources (REST, streaming protocols)

• Drive the integration of BI tools like Tableau, Looker, or Mode

• Mentor junior engineers and foster a high-performing data engineering culture

Requirements

• Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science or a related field

• 6+ years of experience designing & implementing distributed data systems at scale in the cloud

• 2+ years in a tech lead role working closely with business stakeholders

• Deep hands-on expertise with:

  • Apache Flink / Apache Spark

  • Airflow, AWS EMR, DMS, Glue, Lake Formation

  • Kafka, REST APIs, streaming integrations

  • Relational and non-relational databases (advanced SQL)

  • Incremental load pipelines and data streaming

• Strong skills in Java, Scala, or other JVM languages

• Experience with CI/CD, observability, testing, and production monitoring

• Comfortable working in an agile environment with fast iteration cycles

• Strong ownership, product thinking, and user empathy

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in B2C domains or fintech/wealth/trading is a plus

• Exposure to CQRS / Event Sourcing patterns

• Familiarity with Cassandra, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS/GCP
