Profile Overview

The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) is a crucial role at TravClan. With tens of millions of rupees in transactions daily, maintaining a seamless user experience is vital. The SDET will champion the user experience for all products by developing and executing a comprehensive testing strategy. The focus is on automating all aspects of product testing for both internal ERP systems and customer-facing product lines.

This role offers exposure to fast-paced development and a chance to work with top engineering and product leadership teams in the Indian startup ecosystem. You will gain expertise in Travel Tech while automating the entire testing cycle.

Growth Prospects

• Annual CTC: ₹10-15 LPA

• ESOPs + Promotions + aggressive growth prospects

Growth Path:

• GM/Director: ₹35-50 LPA

• Head: ₹18-35 LPA

• Manager: ₹10-18 LPA

• Associate: ₹5-10 LPA

What We Are Looking For

Must-Have Technical Skills

• Strong testing skills with the ability to break systems and products

• Responsible for building, executing, reporting, and validating fixes for smooth releases

• Perform regression testing, feature testing, and sprint testing

• Ability to work with Postman collections and test RESTful APIs (JSONs)

• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define acceptance criteria

• Deep understanding of TDD (Test-Driven Development) philosophy

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

Good to Have

• Experience with multiple automation frameworks like Selenium, Appium, Postman test scripts, Espresso, JMeter, and Mockito

• Ability to automate testing of microservices, SOA platforms, and frontend web and mobile apps

• Collaborate with dev teams to build test data, mock JSONs, etc.

Role Fit

• You must be driven by delivering bug-free products

• Ability to dive deep into system logic, devise test plans, and write test cases

• Comfortable with tight release timelines

• Methodical and logical in your approach to testing systems

What You Can Expect

• Experience with frameworks like pytest, JUnit, Node tests, JavaScript, Python, and MySQL

• Work in a fast-paced environment

This Role Is Not Ideal For You If

• You have not worked on testing 2-3 enterprise products

• You haven’t worked on a single product for at least 10-12 months

• You are not comfortable with long working hours (10-12 hours daily)

• You are not comfortable with working 5 days a week from the office in Delhi

Recruitment Process

1. Aptitude Test: A one-hour test with math aptitude problems, descriptive questions, and technical questions.

2. Personal Interviews: 3 detailed interview rounds.

Important Points

• Office Location: Connaught Place, Delhi

• Work Timings: 9:30 AM till work gets over (10-12 hours of work daily). As part of a startup, building value takes time.

• The role requires adjusting to a high-paced environment, with many new joiners leaving within the first 2 months due to the fast pace.
