Role Overview:

As a Software Engineer I (Frontend) at Chegg, you’ll help build next-gen educational tools. While focused on frontend technologies, you’ll gain exposure to full-stack development including backend systems and cloud services. Proficiency in Node.js and GraphQL is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

???? Frontend Development

• Build and optimize user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript

• Develop responsive apps with React.js, Next.js, and Redux

• Implement scalable state management using Redux, MobX, or React Context

• Design clean UIs with frameworks like Material-UI or Bootstrap

• Use tools like Webpack, Gulp, and Babel for build processes

???? Backend & Full-stack Collaboration

• Develop server-side features using Node.js

• Design and consume GraphQL APIs

• Gain hands-on exposure to Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Redis, and MySQL

• Support cloud-based deployments using AWS

???? Development Workflow

• Write unit and integration tests

• Participate in CI/CD workflows and debugging processes

• Use AI-assisted development tools to increase productivity

Qualifications & Skills:

???? Education

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

???? Experience

• 1+ years with frontend technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React.js, Next.js, Redux

• Proven experience with Node.js and GraphQL

???? Technical Proficiency

• Strong grasp of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles

• Familiarity with UI frameworks and CSS-in-JS, SASS, or LESS

• Exposure to testing frameworks and continuous deployment tools

• Bonus: Experience with AI-assisted coding tools and AWS

???? Soft Skills

• Strong communication (verbal and written)
