About the role

WeWork India is looking for an environmental graphic designer with 4-6 years of experience to help conceive, define and execute environmental graphics and art installations for our WeWork interior spaces as a member of the Art & Graphics and interior design teams.

You will be assisting in the design and production of everything from Art Curation to hand-painted murals, to custom wallpaper patterns, new Art prints/paintings, Dimensional installations etc. Part of the work will be installation-based. Strong hands-on art and design skills are required — i.e. painting, drawing, or other means of creating design in physical spaces, using tools, ladders, etc. You will assist in managing relationships with vendors and manufacturers, ensuring the ordering and organization of materials and samples, and interfacing with freelancers and artists. You must also have experience in traditional graphic design as well as a good knowledge of the local history in terms of cultural references, textiles and regional crafts. An eye for design research is crucial too.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Reports to the Head of Art & Graphics, while working with the associates, Leads, Studio Director and Interior Designers to execute the overall design intent for each space
• Stay up to date with contemporary art, graphic, and interior design trends
• Be an engaged member of both the graphic design and interior design teams. Bring fresh ideas to meetings and be willing to go the extra mile to help team members
• Manage personal workflow and schedule
• Collaborate in the design of environmental art & graphics with your team
• Assist in the installation of graphic and art projects — whether that be hand painting, assisting team members, or finding the right vendor or local artist
• Assisting the Art & Graphics Lead in any potential absence

Education level and desired qualifications

• Strong knowledge and understanding of art and design principles
• 4-6 years experience in the professional graphic design field
• Clear communicator and efficient designer
• Strong interest in interior design, art, and installation design
• Clearly demonstrate leadership characteristics
• Ambitious outside-of-the-box thinker willing to reach beyond their comfort zone
• A MUST: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Esp; Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Comfortable translating design into physical installation work via hand-painting, spray paint, stencilling etc.
• Able to reference past WeWork projects and the overall brand aesthetic while creating work for new WeWork spaces
